Happy New Years to you all, from all of us here at Body Planners. Starting off as we mean to go on in the year of 2022 doesn’t have to be a struggle.
Whether you’ve set a New Years resolution to become fitter, healthier and more active in the future, or you just want to get back to your old ‘before Christmas ways’, we’ve got you covered. In fact, its so easy and simple it isn’t worth bullet pointing the things you need to do, to start turning your ship about (but I’ll do it anyway).
The first thing and a really important thing to address is mindset, where you are at, in relation to where you want to be physically and mentally will help no end with quantifying your efforts whether that’s with booking and attending sessions, or cutting the calories. If your mindset isn’t right for the job in hand, the job its self isn’t going to be done to the best of anyones ability.
Secondly, you have to establish your own routine. Your routine should be based around what you have going off in life, such as work, childcare commitments or ongoing projects. Everything you have going off will have an impact on the likelihood of being successful in this quest.
Thirdly, once you have established a routine that works and you’re of the right mindset to succeed, all you have to do is keep sticking to the routine, and keep that all important mindset in the right place. As we know, curveballs always come along but if you’re well placed mentally, physically and in your routine the chances are you’ll be able to take them in your stride.
Mindset is a difficult one to approach without getting all ‘Guru’, because that isn’t the idea but I’ll simply say, if you’re as happy snacking on the Christmas treats, as you are reluctant to get back to training the chances are you’re currently not of the right mindset to achieve goals, and this will place stress on often mismanaged expectations!
The advice here is simple. Take on a little more exercise and activity than you have been over the last few weeks, reduce your portion sizes on main meals, and reduce the amount of unhealthy snacks on a daily basis. Slowly but surely, you’ll find that straight narrow path you’re looking to find!
Once again, Happy New Years from all of us here at Body Planners, see you all shortly for those results you can measure.
