We all  know exercise is good for you. It manages your weight, it makes you stronger, it helps you feel younger and keeps you active into old age.

But it can also make you feel happier…

When you exercise on a regular basis, you feel less stressed out, less anxious, and happier.

More energy

We all have days when we just feel too tired to exercise, and working out is the last thing we want to do.

But no matter how tired you are from the daily grind,  or recovering from a busy weekend/night, do your best to gather up all your willpower and make that work out. You will thank yourself later, you’ll feel more energised post workout than you did before it.

So force yourself out of bed and get something done, you’ll most likely feel more energised throughout the rest of the day.

Less stressed

When you work out it helps you sweat out the day’s worries, so regular exercise will help you become less stressed as your worries will not build up.

When  you exercise, you’re undergoing a low-level form of stress by raising your heart rate and triggering hormonal changes. When you subject yourself to the stress of exercise regularly, then your body will  get better at handling the rest of life’s stresses.

Greater confidence

When you don’t feel good about your body or how you look, it’s easy to have low self-esteem. This can have a negative effect on of your life such as your relationships, your career, etc.

However,  when you start to exercise and see your body transform, you quickly start feeling good about yourself. Because exercise will not only make you like how you look, it will also make you feel stronger, more independent, and more confident.

Easing anxiety

If you suffer from anxiety, exercise may be an easy cure.

Studies on the effects of exercise show that if you suffer from anxiety, the mood boost from exercise is followed by longer-term relief, similar to that offered by meditation.

Helps with sleep

Staying active and exercising on a regular basis has been shown to improve sleeping problems.  And not only can regular exercise significantly improve your sleep quality, it can also give you that boost that makes you want to get out of bed in the morning and get things done.

If you have trouble sleeping, forget the sleeping pills and try exercising instead.

Happy exercising

So the next time you’re feeling anxious or stressed, don’t just sit there, get up and get some exercise instead. Because you’ll not only feel more energised, calmer and confident— but you’ll be a happier and healthier person.
